So today I went to pick up Marta from Uxbridge and on the way I popped into HMV and did some shopping.
My first purchase Pink Floyd's, The Final Cut. The last Pink Floyd album featuring Roger Walters while the themes are complete Floyd the fact it was produced in the early 80's does reflect in the songs "Oh Maggie what have you done" has probably lost its meaning to most of todays record buyers.
With Walters taking the soul writing credit on the cusp of leaving the band years after this release it is dominated by his dark songs dealing with a lot of his issues that haunt him it must have be at times difficult to write with tacks like Post War Dream dealing with the loss of his father and Paranoid Eyes giving you a glimpse into the writer himself with raw uncut feeling its a mix bag as a Floyd its good and definitely worth buying but its not their best.
The best way to listen as with all of their albums in may mind is in a low lit room to try and get the emotions and thoughts that are wrapped up in this recording
