I want to be sitting here telling you what a great movie this is, to tell you that Samuel L Jackson is truly magnificent as Carl lee. That even though its at the start of Matthew McConaughey's acting career he's shows signs of the Oscar winner he'll eventually become and that the rest of the cast is simply great and make the film interesting and capturing at the same time, But the truth is I blew it ! I listened to the book on Audible and after listening to the work of John Grisham directly the film let me down.

Don't get me wrong its great and all of those things I've said above are true and if you haven't read the book or watched the film before then I believe you should because the story and the acting are great and really give you a feel for the south and the court scenes are cutting and great. But its like a symphony before the overture it give a soft and mellow feel of the story. The book has the true gravitas and is constructed so brilliantly that watching the film after leaves you disappointed at the missing depth. Don't be like me watch the film then read through the book you'll be amazed even after knowing the out come already.
