Philips Steam Generator GC7703

January 12th 2017

My old Philips steam generator dyed a slow and painful death the steam function started to fail here and there until eventually I was left with just a heavy iron with a heavy water tank attached that served no actual purpose. Time for a replacement and after looking on the web Marta and I decided to go old school and shop at Argos. There was a good offer on a Philips iron that was a like for like replacement.

We chose the Philips GC7703 as it had all the features of my old model 120g of steam a minute with 200g boost, Ceramic sole plate which makes life so much easier and a calc clean feature which is good because the water here is slightly hard. the 2.2 litre tank was an upgrade for our last model as was the lockable feature which locks the iron to the tank for easy carrying.

Of course I used it as soon as I got home and I'm impressed it gives good steam and to that end I only gave myself a minor scold once but it made short work of the three shirts and singe pair of trousers I had left to Iron. The fact it locks into the base makes it a hell of a lot easier to put away rather than balancing the heavy pile of gear and spilling water out of the tank everywhere. If you need and Iron look out for a deal on this one In Argos.
